IMS utilizes CIMS Innovation Management Framework. This framework, often referred to as the “Cube”, captures innovation management’s complexity and makes it easier to understand using a systematic way to think about managing innovation. In essence, it 'demystifies' innovation management by breaking it down into elements that can be learned, practiced, measured, and ultimately improved and managed. http://cims.ncsu.edu/framework/ |

Some firms understand their strengths, weaknesses and gaps in innovation management and can effectively communicate these to the IMS faculty and staff while some firms can not. Consequently, the IMS offers an Innovation Management Maturity Assessment that enables organizations to self-assess their current capabilities against the CIMS IM Framework creating a critical baseline from which the IMS customer and IMS faculty can discuss innovation management education and training needs.
